One Small Echo Shadowsong #1 by Jane Washington — mini review I DEVOURED this. Dark romantasy. Deadly training. Royal manipulation. Bonded monsters. And enemies-to-lovers slow burn. Eiko is such a strong, layered FMC, sharp, stubborn, messy, sarcastic and beautifully human. And her dialogues with Hymn? So fun. I was actually laughing out loud. “Hey, so … no big deal or anything, but today I almost bit off the hand of a castle attendant for confiscating my cream puffs.” Prince Chasin? Oh the tension is TENSIONING. This is true enemies-to-lovers energy. Very slow burn. Painfully so. But earned and in line with the story, it was perfect. And that ending?? Brutal. Elliott Rose turned up the heat and I devoured it. Finished 75% in one afternoon because I physically could not stay away. Cabin in the woods. Ex-pro bull rider. She helps him sleep Hand necklaces Spicy lessons Lots of yearning Forbidden love Adopted-uncle / estranged-niece Free use 👀 Family ties that should make this off-limits. And tension so thick it could suffocate you. It’s forbidden, it’s hot, it’s kinky, and beautifully written. Unique magic system. So many unanswered questions. And I am absolutely SAT. 🎧 Jacci Prior and Antony Palmini are a masterclass. This duet narration was top notch and had me in a trance, completely immersed in this story. The tension, the emotion, the longing… all of it hit harder because of their performances. The yearning. The mystery. The twists, written and narrated to perfection. And that ending? Excuse meeeee? R.L. Caulder… what did you do to me?
